Collaborations

The Power Rangers emPOWER Movement works with nonprofits and organizations that are national leaders and recognized experts on child well-being.

For Fall 2011, Power Rangers emPOWER is partnering with Every Body Walk! an online educational campaign aimed at getting Americans up and moving. Every Body Walk! is working to spread the message that walking 30 minutes a day, five days a week can improve overall health and prevent disease by providing news, videos and resources on walking and health information.  Every Body Walk! is launching a new program focused on kids and parents, encouraging kids to walk to school for health and fitness. Every Body Walk! will be including the Power Rangers in their upcoming "Walking School Bus" event at the Center for Total Health in Washington DC on September 23, 2011.

The September 23rd event will bring together educators, kids, parents, and health professionals to encourage kids nationwide to walk to school.  It'll raise awareness of Walk to School Day on October 5th, when the Rangers will join a group of kids walking to school, joining a national campaign at more than 5,000 schools encouraging kids and parents to walk to school!

The initial collaboration for Power Rangers emPOWER Movement was with The Alliance for a Healthier Generation,  a non-profit organization founded by the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation to address one of the nation’s leading public health threats   – childhood obesity.

The Alliance’s mission is to eliminate childhood obesity and to inspire all young Americans to develop lifelong, healthy habits.  The goal of the Alliance is to reduce the nationwide prevalence of   childhood obesity by 2015 and to empower kids to make healthy lifestyle choices.  The Alliance strives positively to affect the places that can make a difference to a child’s health: homes, schools, restaurants, doctor’s offices and the community.

The Alliance provided Power Rangers with healthy living tips and wellness information for parents to share with their children.  During summer 2011, the Alliance featured a special summer content series which was distributed on the Power Rangers emPOWER website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.  Topics included keeping kids active in summer, how to pack a healthy lunch, and making sure kids are getting enough sleep  Read more about how Power Rangers emPOWER and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation worked together
